Francesca is an archaeologist of the contemporary age, specializing in the material traces of the present. She is also a project and communication manager for national and international research initiatives. Passionate about methodological innovation and committed to Open Science, she is one of the founders of MAPPALab, where she has been working since 2010.
Francesca is a key contributor to several pioneering projects, including MAPPA, ArchAIDE, MAGOH, AUTOMATA, and MOD (MAPPA Open Archaeological Archive). She is also an editor of the scientific journal ArcheoLogica Data. She teaches ‘Modern and Contemporary Archaeology’ and ‘European Archaeology, Communication, and Design’ at the University of Pisa.
