The AI in Science Summit 2025 brought together scientists, industry leaders, investors, and policymakers from more than 50 countries in Copenhagen, Denmark, on November 3–4. Organized under the auspices of the Danish EU Presidency, in collaboration with the European Commission and the University of Copenhagen, the event served as a key meeting point for the global AI research community.
The summit explored the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence in scientific discovery and discussed how Europe can lead this AI-driven transformation while upholding its human values and scientific integrity.
One of the main highlights was the launch of the Resource for AI Science in Europe (RAISE) initiative by the European Commission. RAISE will act as a virtual European institute, pooling and coordinating essential AI resources (including computational power, data, talent, and research funding) across EU Member States and the private sector. Its mission is to drive both frontier AI development and AI-enabled scientific progress.
During the summit, MAIA’s Vice Science Communication Coordinator joined the COST booth, which showcased several COST Actions pioneering innovation through AI technologies. The event offered an excellent opportunity to highlight how European research networks are advancing the use of AI in science, and archaeology too!
