Kaarel Sikk is a multidisciplinary researcher working on archaeo-informatics in the University of Tartu, Estonia. He works on archaeological and historical material in combination with environmental data and various theoretical frameworks. His interests include formal modelling of long-term processes, complex systems, human-environment interactions, quantitative geography, settlement systems, archaeological data science and also epistemology of digital humanities as related to modelling and artificial intelligence.
