WG1 State of the Art: AI and Archaeology

I specialize in the study of the earliest settlements in northwestern Europe and lead the archaeological excavations at Scladina Cave (Middle Paleolithic, Belgium). My research focuses particularly on Paleolithic chronology, human-environment interactions, and human behaviors as reflected in the study of stone tools. In the field, I prioritize an interdisciplinary approach from the excavation phase onwards and have developed a monitoring system that integrates new technologies (GIS, photogrammetry, etc.) with conventional excavation methods.
